Textile recycling

What actually happens to the collected used clothing?

Approximately 70% of used clothing and shoes are well preserved and stable. They are marketed as second-hand clothing in Germany, in neighboring countries and in so-called "Third World" countries.

The textile raw materials are raw materials for new technical textiles. These are e.g. Nonwovens and insulation materials that are used in the automotive, construction, electronics and upholstered furniture and mattress manufacturers. Another part of the used textiles is cut and used for cleaning rags.

Sorting companies are essential to process the large flood of used textiles. We at Erdtex have no sorted goods, but have been working with competent partners for years and are happy to mediate. We attach great importance to fairness and transparency.
